Planning Your Visit (Patient Policies)

"Absence of symptoms does not mean good health." Good health is no accident, and a healthy lifestyle is the best way to prevent disease and illness. We believe in aggressive preventive care that will result in prolonged healthy life. We follow the well established guidelines of the American Heart Association, Cancer Society, and other respected organizations such as AMA, JNC, NCEP, and others.

We take pride that we provide numerous preventive care services for out patients at our office. Our services include, but not limited to Complete Physical Exam, echocardiogram to check the valves and contraction of the heart, holter monitor-to evaluate cardiac arrhythmia, treadmill-to check for blocked arteries, MMSE to identify dementia, ABI to detect blocked arteries of the legs, Bone density Dexa Scan to discover osteoporosis. If you have any questions regarding these services that we provide, you can check the SERVICES WE PROVIDE.

If it is necessary we will refer you a specialist to address a complex health issue. Please allow 5 days to obtain an authorization to see a specialist. If you have not received authorization within 5 -7 days, please contact our referral coordinator at (619)698-0606.

Our refill number is (619) 462-6640. Please remember that all prescriptions and authorizations for renewals of special medications are handled during our regular office hours only. Refill requests can be called in by you directly to your pharmacy. They will then fax or call in the request to our office. Please allow 72 hours for prescription renewals to be faxed to our office, approved, and refilled by your pharmacy.

Fees and Payments

We make every effort to keep the cost down while maintaining a high level of professional care. Insurance is intended to cover some, but not all of the cost of your care. Most plans do not include co-payments, annual deductibles and other expenses that must be paid by the member. Co-payments and deductibles are expected to be paid prior to being seen by the physician.

Kindly bring your insurance cards and other ID cards at the time of each office visit for verification by the office staff. We will work with you to assure that you receive the maximum benefit to which you are entitled. If you have any questions regarding your coverage, please ask a member of our office staff who will work with you to find the answer.

Please inform the receptionist if there has been any change to your name, address, telephone number and insurance. This allows us to keep our records updated and avoid unnecessary delays in payment for your treatment.

Dr. Prabaker is a provider under most health insurance plans, he also belongs to the Sharp Community Medical Group. If you have any questions please call your insurance company to check if Dr. Venu Prabaker is your Primary Care Provider (PCP).
